Information for New Members

Thankyou for joining Woodville Concert Band.

We are a community band, funded by the City of Charles Sturt. We aim to promote musical education and to perform together at concerts for the pleasure of the community, to encourage participation amongst students and adults in the community, and to maintain active liaison with all schools in the region.

Information about the band:

  • Rehearsals are Wednesday nights, 7:30−9:30pm at Woodville Town Hall.
  • Please arrive at 7:15pm to be ready to play at 7:30pm.
  • Please bring your own music stand to rehearsals.
  • Music folders must stay at the Hall.
  • Supper is available during the break in rehearsal (approx 8:30pm). Cost is 50c. Members contribute to providing food for supper. Tea, coffee and cordial are available.
  • If you are unable to come to a rehearsal please contact the Musical Director Andrew Cheek on 0416 053 602, or the Secretary on the numbers above.
  • Annual membership fee is $30 for adults, $20 for students. This is payable after the AGM.
  • The AGM is held in April each year. All members are welcome to nominate for positions on the Committee. Committee meetings are normally held on the second Thursday of every month.
  • Uniforms vary according to the type of concerts:
    1. Summer outdoor − Polo Shirt, Black pants/skirt, black socks and shoes.
    2. Winter outdoor − White shirt, band logo jumper, Black pants/skirt, black socks and shoes.
    3. Formal evening − Black shirt, black pants/skirt, black socks and shoes.
  • Band polo shirts and jumpers are available to buy from the Property Officer.
  • The band plays concerts for the City of Charles Sturt, local organisations, private engagements and a regional weekend tour each year.
